During the late 1800s, fresh beer was carried from local pubs to homes in small pails. The term “growler” is rumoured to come about when these carriers rumbled with CO2 as it escaped through their lids; this created an eerie sound like distant wisdom or thunder!

The Growler is a must-have for any craft beer lover or beer drinker. You can take your favourite brews with you on the go, fill up at home or in one of many craft breweries around town or even your local pub, and then drink them outside without worrying about glassware!

The 64-ounce growler is the most common type, but you can also find 36-ounce ones and even 16 ounce, tasters. So, how many beers are in a growler? The answer is a six pack! The average beer growler fills up about 2 litres which makes it perfect for parties!

The original growler

A Large glass jug that makes it easy to find your favourite drink at a moment’s notice. With the large capacity and stylish carrying handle, this is one of those products that will become an essential part in every kitchen or bar! Popular styles would include finishes in clear glass and my favourite amber glass. Topped off with a bung, this airtight jug is the OG of the growler world. These glass containers were the best way to transport beer and deliver the freshest beer to its destination.

Stainless steel growlers

Cleaning your Growler

The growler is a great way to enjoy fresh draft beer at home. You’ve drunk your beer and you have an empty growler? You can clean them using hot water and reuse them forever, provided they remain in good condition – for old ones that need cleaning though we recommend dishwashing liquid or soap with no residue left on the bottle because this will influence the taste of your favourite brews!

When and where to use your growler

The insulated growler is the perfect solution for any outdoor enthusiast who loves beer. You can enjoy it at home, on your next camping trip or hike- even if you’re just taking a drive down scenic Indiana Avenue! Your favourite beer will travel in perfect condition with you and you won’t have the hassle of bringing home empty beer bottles.

I have a few breweries near my home but when I head to my favourite brewery, I also make sure that I bring my own growler with me. There are so cool and can hold so much beer, there are one of my favourite possessions.

Beer Lovers

Go Growler

Are you a beer lover or are you one of your friends or family members? If so, a beer growler is a great gift. Just picture having a party with friends and you have your trusty growler of beer with you. This stainless steel bottle is the ultimate way to keep your beer fresh and cool. Also if you don’t finish all of your beer, you can easily take home any of your remaining beer.

The price of a modern growler can start at $30 and depending on the style and quality can be over $150. But the investment you are making will greatly reduce the average price of buying beer from a local brewery compared to the high cost of beer from a retail store.

In summary, you can hold a six-pack of beer in your growler, save money, reduce the impact on the environment and look like the coolest dude at the party.
